A real environment of TANGO at the SEOUL TANGO FESTIVAL

I never find before with in the many tango communities that I visited before, such a real environment and culture of TANGO as I found in the milongas of the Seoul Tango Festival. Except of Buenos Aires, no place in Europe or North America, reproduce well what I found here: Invitation strictly by “cabeceo”. A persistent look works on Asian women after they look how you dance. Only after that. Respect on the dance floor. No overtaking. The floor was crowed and you might advance just a few meters during the all tanda. People are dancing on the spot of 50x50 cm as must time as needed.. The local DJs are very good (I particularly like Federico (from Pohang) he had put his soul on his play list). No nuevo, no modern sextetos. Well-sequenced music (tandas and cortinas), just classical music, with well-chosen Pugliese (I really start to re-like it ;-)). The level of dancing is generally medium-high and closed embrace is mainly used. Asians left them touched by the tango music and you can see it at the dance floor. More than the dance… it is the culture of tango is here. You don’t need talk or understand the language, if you can dance and respect the milongas codes, you are well accepted and you can experience tango. Really every thing “comme-il-faut”. I congratulate the tango organizers in Korea (not only the organizers of the festival) from fetching and raising such an authentic tango culture in Seoul. Bringing the real ambassadors of tango like Fabian Peralta and Javier Rodrigues really helps.
